2008: Big changes on the horizon?
As 2007 fades and the new year gets going I can't help but wonder what things 2008 will bring. What changes will come about? What new PC technologies will be released? Who will win the US presidential election? How the operating system war will pan-out? And the list goes on and on. Now you might be thinking to yourself that changes like this happen every year. And the truth is you'd be correct but 2008 has a bit more going on than other years gone past. The presidential ellection for instance: It's not going to be a clear cut election. And if Hilary Clinton ends up winning that would be a major accomplishment. Not just for her but for every Women in the world. It will be really interesting to see how it all works out
And what about Windows Vista? Will it catch on like XP? Will the bugs be ironed out and will there be widespread acceptance in the computer industry? To be honest I don't think we really have much of choice. Most PC's are sold with Vista right now. Sure you can re-install your XP disk or even move to an open source operating system like Linux but in reality I don't see people doing that. For the majority of people using Vista won't really make much of a difference. It has a web browser and it's capable of running an office productivity suite. What else do people really do on a computer? Sure some of us play PC games (and those will probably be the last operating system hold-outs since I know for a fact Vista's gaming performance is sub-par).
Yes indeed it will be a very interesting year....
